The Sarasota Indie Market & Plant Swap is a curated outdoor market hosted by Salt Your Soul Gift Co. featuring local makers, artists, small businesses, plant vendors, vintage finds & more.
Each market has a rotating vendor lineup, so there’s always something new to discover.
Come shop small, swap plants, grab coffee or lunch, and spend a few hours supporting some very cool local humans.

Got a plant that feels a little too good for the free-for-all?
This section is for healthy, established plants you’d rather trade directly for something of similar value.THINK:
- Established rooted plants
- Mature propagations
- Larger or especially healthy plants
- Uncommon varieties
- Plants in nice pots
- Anything you look at and think, “Yeahhhh, I’m not just putting this on the regular swap table.”
They do not have to be rare or expensive. They just need to be established, healthy, and something another plant person would be excited to trade for.
HOW IT WORKSYou keep ownership of your plant until you agree to a trade.
Bring your plant to the Bougie Plant Swap area and let other plant people know what you have and what you might be looking for.
When someone wants to trade, use the Plant Trade Mat to make an offer.
One plant can be traded for:
- One plant
- Multiple smaller plants
- A plant + pot
- Whatever combination makes both people happy
There are no assigned dollar values and no one is judging whether your trade is “equal enough.”
A fair trade is whatever both plant people are happy with.
BOUGIE SWAP RULES
- Plant-for-plant trades only — no cash
- Both people must agree before anything changes hands
- Bougie plants do NOT become part of the end-of-day free-for-all
- If you don’t find a trade you love, take your plant home
- Please bring only healthy, pest-free plants
Small note:
Swap volunteers may redirect plants to the Community Swap if they’re a better fit there.

Yes. There is no admission fee, and participation in the plant swaps is free.

No. You’re welcome to come just to shop and hang out. If you want to participate in the Community Plant Swap, bring something to contribute or check back during the end-of-market free-for-all.

The Community Plant Swap is a casual shared-table swap for cuttings, propagations, small plants, pots, and supplies.
The Bougie Plant Swap is for healthier, established plants that stay with their owner until a direct trade is agreed upon.

No. The swap is for trading, not selling. Our licensed plant vendors will have plants available for purchase throughout the market.

The market is outdoors and may continue through light rain, but severe weather could cause delays, changes, or cancellation. Follow the Facebook event and check this page for updates.

Please park on the south end of the Coral Cove Mall parking lot. We ask that you leave the spaces closest to Culver’s open for their customers.

Yes! And please bring your kiddos to the studio inside Salt Your Soul Gift Co. to paint a pot, color or just hang out in the AC.

Yes! Well-behaved pets are welcome. Just keep in mind that the market is outdoors on an asphalt parking lot. There is a grassy area along Tamiami Trail for potty breaks. Please clean up after your pet, and keep them leashed or crated at all times.

Yes! The market itself is on ground level. To enter Salt Your Soul Gift Co., please use the accessible ramp located in front of Sarasota Liquors. There is also a wheelchair-accessible restroom inside Salt Your Soul.

Most vendors accept cards or digital payments, but payment methods vary by business. Bringing a little cash never hurts.

No outside food or beverage trucks this season. Palma Coffee and Culver’s are both located in the plaza, and a limited number of baked-goods or specialty food vendors may also participate.

No. Each market is intentionally curated with a mix of returning favorites and rotating local businesses.
